Mosquito/Tick repellent

This natural deet-free, homemade mosquito repellent is great for mosquitos, ticks, deer flies, fleas and other annoying warm season bugs. Safe for humans and also for dogs!  

 Mosquitos, just like ticks, fleas and deer flies, are thought to dislike several natural scents that are pleasing to humans such as lavender, lemongrass and eucalyptus which are made into common homemade insect repellents.  But Lemon eucalyptus oil has been found to be the most effective natural DIY mosquito repellent behind DEET and picaridin.  Adding Palmarosa essential oil (a member of the lemongrass family) to the mix just ups the ante.  That also is an excellent mosquito deterrent.  Different oils repel different bugs, so it’s best to use a combination of essential oils for protection against mosquito bites and other insect bites.
